When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 at 31 years old, I thought beating it would be relatively easy.

I was so wrong. My experience in the medical system completely changed my perspective on reporting. That’s why I founded Barred Owl Press.

Prior to founding Barred Owl Press in 2020, I worked as a Florida health correspondent for POLITICO and as a political reporter for the Naples Daily News.

I have a masters in journalism from Columbia and a B.S. in economics from Arizona State University.
